"Creating a well-trained, open and thriving community of DBT and mindfulness based practitioners is one of the main goals of the San Francisco DBT Center & Training Institute."

The San Francisco DBT Center is currently offering a unique opportunity to pre-licensed Masters level interns (MFTIs, MSWs) and post-doctoral level clinicians (PhD, PsyD) to receive advanced DBT training. Interns and post-docs will receive training and clinical experience doing individual DBT therapy and co-leading DBT skills groups. Remuneration will be provided for direct clinical service hours. Supervision will occur regularly and consistent with the requirements of the Board of Psychology. We are particularly interested in working with clinicians who are either eligible or nearly eligible for licensure. We are able to offer 10 hours a week of training and thus should not be considered as a primary training site.

This is a fantastic opportunity for post-graduate therapists interested in DBT and who aspire to practice in the private sector. Once our interns and post-docs have completed their hours and are licensed, they may continue to work with their clients in the setting of their choice (i.e., the San Francisco DBT Center is non-proprietary with respect to clients). In addition, former interns and post-docs will continue to be part of our expanding referral network.

Those interested should contact Deborah Mitchell, Ph.D. at dmitchell@sfdbt.com
